A recent addition to our custom escort content management system (CMS) that we have created for our clients is a reviews feature. SWOP has some excellent guidelines for how to be an ally with working girls – SWOP is Sex Workers Outreach Project, a group formed to advocate to end violence against sex workers. The Australian chapter describes their mission is described as:

SWOP promotes the health, safety and wellbeing of sex industry workers in a way which enables and affirms their occupational and human rights and is the leading agency in NSW for HIV prevention amongst sex industry workers.

The identity of the famous call-girl blogger Belle De Jour has recently been revealed as Dr Brooke Magnanti, a PhD research scientist. Is the industry taking a further step toward the mainstream with this latest development? It is surely going to help dispell common misconceptions that escorts are merely in the industry being exploited because they have to be. Dr Magnanti can surely not be accused of working in the industry because she has too and an associate of hers summed up the negative reactions she’s received from the press quite nicely:
